Metallica shirt celebrates the release of their new album, 'Death Magnetic', with a unique treatment using silver foil accents. The cover of the album is printed on the front, with the original-style 'old' band logo, and album title silkscreeened in metallic foil. The background features the coffin design, which resembles a thumbprint. The drawing is based on the physics lesson showing what happens when iron shavings are placed on paper with a magnet below, forming an outward spiraling design. It depicts both the attraction and repelling nature of death. According to guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield, the title 'started out as kind of a tribute to people that have fallen in our business.' The analogy was developed to describe death, and how 'just like a magnet, some people are drawn towards it, [and] other people are afraid of it and push away. Show your love for this iconic heavy metal group with this great shirt.
